Opening Day

Spring has almost truly arrived and that means that opening day is fast approaching. The Red Sox open their season on Monday afternoon against those Tampa Bay Rays. I'm really looking forward to this season and hoping that the Sox can bring home another world series. I Think they have a pretty solid chance of doing it even with the enormous amount of cash the Yanks dished out to free agents in the off season. The strenght of the team definitely seems like it is going to be the pitching staff they have a ton of depth both in the rotation and in the bullpen. For starters they bring back Josh Beckett, John Lester, Dice-K, Tim Wakefield, John Smoltz, Brad Penny, Clay Bucholz they just have a wealth of solid guys to fill the 5 man rotation. In the bullpen they of course have one of the best closers in the game Jonathon Papelbon along with Manny Delcarmen, Hideki Okajima, Justin Masterson, Ramon Ramirez and many more guys that are more than capable of pitchin in the Big Leagues. The Line up 1-9 is as balanced as any in the league. With Big Papi, Pedroia, Youk, Bay, Lowell these guys definitely are capable of making damage. I am really looking forward to seeing just what this team can do. What do you guys think the Sox chances are this season?
